World of Warcraft ( wow ) commonly known as WoW, is a massively multiplayer role-playing game developed by Blizzard Entertainment online available for Windows and Mac OS X. It is based on the history of video games in the series of real-time strategy Warcraft, four years after the events in Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, Blizzard’s previous title. The player takes the role of a character who interacts with others and situations developed in a great atmosphere, similar to an RPG. It has two expansions: The Burning Crusade, launched on January 16, 2007. On August 3, 2007, during the 2007 BlizzCon event, Blizzard announced a new expansion Wrath of the Lich King, which is available from the November 13, 2008 The patch fixes quite frequent, also added new content.
The game has received wide acceptance worldwide.
